The Project
In April 2024, Hermès celebrated the grand opening of their stunning new store in Princeton, New Jersey, with an exclusive event for VIPs and press. The evening culminated in a never-before-seen experience at the Institute of Advanced Study, famously known as Einstein's former research hub. As the creative director and illustrator for this project, I worked with the team to transform the Institute’s cafeteria, once featured in A Beautiful Mind, into the Hermès Chromatic Research Laboratory. This whimsical space came alive as "scientists" busily searched for the perfect Hermès orange—along with every other color in the spectrum! Guests enjoyed a three-course culinary journey, complete with "scientific" experiments and an extraordinary performance by Berlin-based Playtronica, who created music using Hermès bags and colored Jello as sound-conducting instruments. The event was a vibrant and unforgettable celebration of color, creativity, and innovation that hermès is known for.
